		<title>Northern part of Aral Sea restored</title>
		<description><![CDATA[For 30 years of fruitful work of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the northern part of the sea has been restored, said Sulton Rakhimzoda, chairman of the IFAS executive committee, Sputnik reports.

		<title>World Bank noticeably improves growth forecast for Uzbek economy</title>
		<description><![CDATA[The World Bank has published a regular report (published twice a year - in January and June). It highlights current trends, risks and forecasts for the development of global, regional and national economies.

According to the World Bank forecasts in its latest World Economic Outlook report, in 2023 the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region will see a slight increase in economic growth rates - about 1.4%. However, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and its aftermath, growth prospects remain highly uncertain. Excluding Russia and Ukraine, the growth rate expected in the ECA region in 2023 will be 2.4%, i.e., will be reduced by almost 2 times.

According to the WB, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are expected to show the highest GDP growth in 2023 among the 23 economies in the ECA region - 6.5% and 5.1% respectively. 		<title>Kyrgyzstan increased crude oil production</title>
		<description><![CDATA[The volume of crude oil production in Kyrgyzstan has increased in 2023, National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reports.

In January-April 2023, 97.8 thousand tons of black gold were mined in Kyrgyzstan. This is 4.3% more than in the same period in 2022. Then, 93.8 thousand tons of raw materials were extracted from oil fields in Kyrgyzstan.

In total, in 2022, black gold production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 295.1 thousand tons. Most of it is mined in the Jalal-Abad region in southern Kyrgyzstan. In the Ferghana Valley, where crude oil is produced, Uzbekistan also produces a large volume of crude oil.

Batken region of Kyrgyzstan is the second in terms of black gold production in the country. Crude oil production in this area in 2022 amounted to 11.8 thousand tons.
